Frequently Asked Questions

You have questions. I have answers!

01

Do we need a planner if my venue has a coordinator?

Short answer, yes. Here’s why: The Venue Coordinator is there to facilitate all details related to the venue. They work with the couple and their planner to advise on and maintain the venue-specific details (in-house catering menus, floor plan and layout options, in-house AV set ups, load-ins etc). They are the experts on their venue, and are invaluable during the planning process. However, they do not take care of the overall event and décor design, detailed planning, budget management, and any other vendor management.  Your planner’s focus is you and will work closely with you from day one.

02

When in the process should we hire a planner?

As early as possible! One of the first things we do is establish a vision and a budget. You’ll want to ensure that the vendors you book will work for your budget and design, and we can help you figure that out. Having your planner in the loop on all vendors from day one makes the process run smoothly, and can save you time, money and headache.

03

Do you offer day-of wedding
coordination?

TWG offers Wedding Coordination Services (sometimes referred to as day-of coordination). Why the distinction? The term “day-of”  is a bit misleading. If you have planned and booked all of your vendors yourself but would like someone to organize the timeline and run things on the wedding day, I start working with you a few months out to make sure all details are in place.

04

We have a vision for our wedding – will that get lost with a designer / planner?

I’m here to work with you on your dream wedding. I want your day to reflect your style and vision. So if you have one already, you bet I want to help you bring that to life! I may be able to offer style or design options you didn’t know were available, or help you find alternatives that fit your budget – but you will get the final say. Think of me as your partner in planning!

05

Do you have a covid management plan
in place?

Yes! I completed the Event Leadership institute’s  Pandemic On-Site Protocol Training to help me develop a plan which is backed by science and includes the highest industry standards. See our COVID-19 page with up-to-date information on restritcions.

06

What are minimonies and micro weddings?

Minimonies and Micro Weddings are smaller celebrations of love – typically up to 10 guests, or 50 guests  respectively .
Minis usually include the ceremony and often a couple of key wedding traditions such as: cake cutting, first dance, and a toast. These are often chosen by couples that have decided to have a more intimate ceremony, and will host a larger reception at a later date.
Micros have all or most elements of a traditional wedding. Although they’re petite in size, they can still be grand in style.

I’ve completed training in Micro Weddings & Minimonies by The Wedding Planners Institute of Canada.

07

Are you LGBTQIA2S+ Friendly?

Abso-freaking-lutely! The Wedding Grove is Queer and woman owned!

08

Are you insured?

We sure are! Some venues require that all of your vendors have their own insurance, so make sure you confirm that before booking vendors.

09

If you’re insured, do we need our own insurance?

Our insurance covers the Wedding Grove Team. You may want to consider getting your own wedding insurance to protect your contracts, deposits, gifts, and liability. Check out PAL and Duuo for more information on what’s covered.

*You may also be required by your venue to provide this

10

What do your services cost?

Your wedding vision is unique, and your pricing will be as well. We have base-pricing for our packages, but until we have a chat to determine the  vision for your event, it’s difficult to provide accurate figures.
A laid back 50-person backyard wedding will have a very different scope than a 200-person black tie affair.
